What is a sister ship?
A sister ship is another simm (it can be a ship, station, or whatever) with which the USS Portland has a close relationship with. It can be a simm which is commanded by a player on the USS Portland, another ship in Obsidian Fleet, a ship we've done a joint mission with, a ship of a similar class, or just another simm we want to make friends with.
What's the point of being a sister ship?
There are a few benefits to being sister ships. First, it helps us build relationships with other simms, which may blossom into closer cooperation and joint missions. Secondly, it is useful for anyone wanting to create a second character. If you're thinking of creating another character, you can check out the sister ships to find other quality simms that you might be interested in. Finally, it helps the Portland recruit, as people on our sister ships decide to make new characters on the Portland
Sounds cool! Can I be sister ships with the Portland?
Sure! We're always happy to be building relationships with players on other simms. Simply contact the command team at ussportland@gmail.com to make arrangements. The main thing with the sister ship program is that it is reciprocal -- while we're advertising your ship on the Portland, you have to advertise the Portland on your ship.
The sister ship program was originally intended for fellow Obsidian Fleet simms. However, we are willing to consider being sister ships with non-OF simms, however that decision requires approval from our TGCO.
