The Good Conduct Medal goes to Parker Hudson

We have Departmental Service Badges to award to a number of longer-serving players for your service in 2014. Alenis Meru and Timothy Rouse get the Departmental Service Badge (Command), Jason Beauvoir and Brad Silverton for Science, Parker Hudson and Jita Kejal for Service, and Tyrlai Zade for Support

For our newbies, we also have the Meritorious Newcomer of the Month Award. We couldn't decide who to give it to, so it's going to both Thoval sh'Kor and Amata Zan.
Award Description: This award will be given to the newcomer who makes themselves known and puts in the most effort to make their character a valuable addition.
Reason for Nomination (Thoval): For jumping right in and becoming an active member of the USS Portland. I can’t wait to see what you have in store for Thoval!
Reason for Nomination (Amata): For jumping right in and becoming an active member of the USS Portland. Bajorans represent! I can’t wait to see what you have in store for Amata!
That's all for the Level 1 awards, but we also have three crewmen who earned Level 2 awards, which are more prestigious and require approval from Obsidian Fleet before being issued.
First up, the Creativity Award (Level 2) goes to everyone's favourite Trill, Tyrlai Zade
Award Description: The Creativity Award is presented to those who come up with an outstanding idea during a mission.
Reason for Nomination:
Dave is a very creative player, and Tyrlai is a fun character to have on board. She’s an instigator in the best possible way – always doing cool things which add to the emerging story of the USS Portland. A few of the things she has done in her 8 months on board include come up with the overarching Tolic shard subplot, using temporal interference to call on past crews of a ship to help destroy a pirate cruiser, filling a dickish scientist’s office with balloons, sneaking around on Gamia III, and, as NPC Novia Yenn, bringing aboard some pet alien monkeys.

A well-deserved Ribbon of Commitment (L2) goes to our executive officer, the straight man of the USS Portland (when he's not shooting consoles), Timothy Rouse
Award Description: Given to a person who has truly put forth an indisputable amount of extra effort.
Reason for Nomination: For all her hard work in helping the Portland be as successful as it is, Agnes definitely deserves this award. She's a great XO, and her strengths help cover for my weaknesses, especially when it comes to things like web design and graphics. She has been very committed to the USS Portland and can always be counted on to post and get the story flowing. Also, she has created some very memorable moments on the USS Portland. She is a wonderful XO, and I'm lucky to have her.
And last but not least, the Community Builder Citation (L2) goes to Alenis Meru
Award Description: This crew member is always going out of his/her way to help the crew connect with one another and knit the simm much closer together
Reason for Nomination: You deserve this. You might be the CO, and see it as your 'job' to connect the crew together. Not many COs do this automatic. You've created a fun and enjoyable community for us and go out of your way to make everyone feel welcome!
That's all, folks! Congratulations to all the winners!
Just a reminder that the deadline for nominations for the Obsidian Fleet Character of the Year, CO of the Year, and XO of the Year awards are coming up! If you'd like to make a nomination, contact the command staff! And remember, nominations for these and any other awards can be made by Players Like You!
