Award images, which are hosted on our website, are down due to technical issues. I'm working to resolve these issues, but it is taking a while. However, I do have the awards for March 2015 here:
Crew’s Choice Award: Voted on by the crew of the simm in question.
Sera Williams: For winning the Crew’s Choice Award poll in February 2015
Meritorious Newcomer of the Month: This award will be given to the newcomer who makes themselves known and puts in the most effort to make their character a valuable addition.
Eilis Ross: Since joining recently, Eilis has jumped straight into the USS Portland, participating in a number of subplots and using NPCs to jump in with her main character. The player behind Eilis is also a conscientious poster, typically responding to tags quickly.
Captain’s Personal Merit: Awarded to the crew member who the Captain feels worthy.
Amata Zan: Since joining, Amata has jumped right into his role as a security officer, investigating some of the mischief that has gone down on the USS Portland, as well as participating in a dangerous landing party to investigate the caves of Gamia III.
Most Improved Player of the Month: This award will be given to the player who shows the most improvement from the previous month.
Sera Williams: Coming off of a streak of inactivity late last year, Sera has become an active member of the USS Portland again, even going so far as to create a subplot in the Lower Decks and becoming one of Obsidian Fleet’s newest COs.
Obsidian Fleet Service Citation: Awarded to a member of the crew who has served with the ship for at least 6 months. This award is non-cumulative.
Parker Hudson: For six months of service on the USS Portland
Air Medal: For recognition of piloting abilities
Timothy Rouse: NPC Judith Rouse managed to crash-land a shuttle in a harbor, saving the lives of everyone on board after the engine core was jettisoned to evade a surface to air missile. Also, Judith used a shuttle in a skilled manner to provide air cover for a landing party, enabling them to secure the mouth of a cave.
Deforest Kelley Humour Award: This award is meant to help us all remember that a bit of light-heartedness goes a long way; even in the face of danger.
Timothy Rouse: Tim has been playing an under-appreciated role in the world of humour: that of the straight man. All the humourous situations that the crew of the Portland have gotten themselves into wouldn't be quite the same without an executive officer who is always there to sigh and shake his head.
Good Conduct Medal: For exceptional performance of one’s duties
Brad Silverton: Brad is one of those dependable characters. Not necessarily always in the spotlight, he’s always there to patch up the wounded or deal with crew members’ pon farr.
Kublai Khan Award: This award is presented to an individual who plays a key part of developing new tactical combat maneuvers while in hand-to-hand combat.
Tyrlai Zade: Tyrlai has been a skilled and creative combatant in hand to hand combat since joining the Portland, having fought cultists and a large reptilian creature.
Parker Hudson: For the creative use of various gadgets to assist in hand to hand combat. Parker’s use of non-standard weapons and tools in hand to hand combat always adds a little spice to the scene.
Library Excellence Ribbon: Awarded for the best writing style: clear, precise, and easy to follow - yet allows the story to flow smoothly and easily passed off to another crew member. Also includes spelling and grammar used properly.
Amata Zan: For crafting well-written posts, including the velocity game on the holodeck with Thoval, and your contribution to the main storyline and mirror universe subplot.
Thoval sh’Kor: For crafting well-written posts, such as the velocity game on the holodeck with Amata
Ero Cenza: For crafting well-written posts, particularly Ero’s prequel story in the lower decks
Medal of Honor: This medal is awarded for the showing of bravery and valor in the heat of combat.
Jason Beauvoir: Surrounded by cultists, Jason and Parker stared down the CO who was possessed by an evil pah wraith.
Parker Hudson: Surrounded by cultists, Jason and Parker stared down the CO who was possessed by an evil pah wraith.
NPC Award: For the Development of Non-Player Characters
Alenis Meru: For the creation and development of Ensign Nikki Barclay. Nikki is a unique and interesting character (nominated by Tyrlai Zade)
Eilis Ross: Though Eilis has been waiting patiently on DS9 for the Portland to return, the player behind Eilis has been participating in the action through various NPCs. Good job!
Recruitment Award: For recognition of recruitment success
Alenis Meru: Over the past year, the Portland has grown to over a dozen players, in part due to the recruitment efforts of the CO (nominated by Tyrlai Zade)
Unit Citation: Awarded to the crew member who shows considerable talent in working with other crew members to create a winning plot line worthy of the vessel's reputation.
Sera Williams: For creating the Rigel Cup 2390 side-story in the Lower Decks. In doing so, Sera has helped involve new crew members, and is using the Lower Decks subforum exactly as it was intended.
