Name: Parker Hudson
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Position: Chief Engineer
Age/Date of Birth: 37 / 2354 / Star Date: 31800.0
Physical Description:
Parker stands at 6'1" tall with short dark hair. He usually styles his hair combing tufts upward along his forehead. His eyes are coloured light blue with a confident piercing gaze. His body figure is toned nicely however nothing at a steroid level. Parker holds a strong physical stamina due to his years of long distance running. He gets his kicks from mountain biking often ending with gashes and shin fractures at times. Ice Hockey is his preferred sport in a defence position taking out his frustration and anger body checking other players for stress release.
Personality Traits:
Parker is a man who can sympathize for others in need. In a supporting way he will make sure that his friends or coworkers are doing well, when they've had a bad day. Rather than analytically list off engineering solutions to a situation Parker will inspect by means of instinct. Just like any Male Parker is controlling and 'tough' and able to stand in any hand to hand combat. Although he does not need to boast and chest thump his presence remaining level headed and calm on the outside.
Parker isn't sensitive and is often coarse and tough with his fellow engineering crew members in a fun loving manner. He is confident and self assured with almost any technological undertaking involving Star Ships and Warp Drive systems. Nothing bothers Parker more than officers who don't show up on time to their shifts, and workers who are sloppy and lax. Parker thrives on order and organization of his tools which is obsessive compulsive. Outside of engineering Parker is easy and carefree often wearing plain clothes khaki shorts or t-shirts and sandals. He would rather be on the holodeck on a beach, holding a beer and watching bikini's playing volleyball, or in a classic 1986 red Ferrari riding along locals such as Monaco.
History:
AKARIA BASE - REMMLER ARRAY
Parker was born on Star Date 31800.0 on Akaria Base. A United Federation colony supporting orbiting Remmler Array used to cleanse Star Ships of harmful anti-matter energy. Parker's Father and Mother Derek and Alice Hudson are both high ranking officers in the civil engineering core. Parker's Parents remain stationed at the Remmler Array with a team of engineers to this date.
Growing up on a solitary colony had its advantages and disadvantages for him. Parker had very little chance to meet and bond with friends of his age, finding most of his free time wandering the outskirts of the many forests and coves to swim. Above all else Parker spent his time developing his parents appreciation for technological engineering learning along side them and the many Federation engineers.
While Parker was a studious and quiet young boy he was the cause of many minor systems mishaps on the colony. Siphoning energy capacitors and statically charging eps taps on the base to find new and more efficient ways to power flux capacitors and anything his 'brilliant' young mind could think of next.
By 2370 Parker begun amateur studies relating to Star Fleet Engineering working towards his Cadet entrance exams and preparations for his chosen field. He wanted to leave Akaria Base. Parker knew he could do more than manage a sub-orbital facility like his parents were working, not that he wasn't proud of his parents work it just was not his work.
STAR FLEET ACADEMY
On Star Date 49548.0 Star Fleet Transfer Regulations accepted Parker into the Academy at the age of 18. At the Marin County, San Francisco Training Academy Parker excelled in his courses, with a little help from his Parent's back at Akaria Base supporting him. Parker easily made friends with his welcoming and friendly laid back character. Earning friendship was important to Parker as he had missed that for most of his childhood back home. Given the chance to become a team mate and play on sports teams brought out the athlete within Parker that he never knew he had. Quickly he developed a passion for sport just as much as he had for his Engineering studies.
There was also Emma Brown. The Daughter of Parker's Spatial Thermodynamic Theory Professor a Mr. Tyson Brown. Professor Mr. Brown let it be known to Parker he was not amused with his dalliances with his fine young Daughter Emma, and used his influence at the Academy forcing Parker to redo his second year exams. Of course Parker did exceptionally well on the exams and went on a date with Professor Brown's Daughter that very same night after they were completed much to his chagrin.
USS YORKTOWN - 2376 - 2381
In 2376 the fun and games had ended. The Academy assigned Parker to the USS Yorktown as an Assistant Engineer under the supervision of Chief of Engineering. The pulse of the warp systems, plasma conduits, micron vibrations of the ship all were enough to easily overwhelm the young Engineer. Parker craved working shifts. Night shifts, day shifts and picking up shifts for sick colleagues as often as possible easily impressing his superiors over the 4 years he served. On the Yorktown Parker learned that Engineering in the real world didn't always come from a specs manual and some situations required working 'out of the box'.
USS SARATOGA - 2381 - 2386
A short stay on the USS Yorktown allowed Parker to be transferred to the USS Saratoga in 2381. Again this was yet another work experience in the Engineering department along with surface away missions setting up portable plasma stations on Federation relief missions to disaster stricken worlds. Meeting new and odd aliens intrigued Parker helping break him from his comfort zone beyond a just a microcosm world view.
In the year 2386 Parker received a special transport from Akaria Base, it seemed his Parent's Golden Retriever 'Sasha' had pups. Upon opening the stasis crate the golden fur n' paws jumped up at Parker. 'Neutron' quickly become a close pal to Parker learning such commands as beg, talk, act dead and answering the quarters door. Wherever he went Neutron went even on the holodeck adventures backpacking the Sierra Nevada's or Mountain Biking in the Swiss Alps.
USS PORTLAND 2391
Parker's last assignment years before arriving on the USS Portland in 2391 was the USS Melbourne. Star Fleet was undergoing major retrofits to the fleet and the Melbourne had suffered a warp core dylthium fracture in its crystal set. What was supposed to be a 7 month repair to the dynamic electro plasma assembly and bussard collectors was completed in four due to Parker's 'out of the box' thinking. To this date Star Fleet has added his new inventive repair specifications in respective training.
